The Travelling Canary in Alachua County

The Travelling Canary in Alachua County is a coffee table book, art book, memoir, and history of life in Gainesville, Alachua County, FL, USA. The book is divided into eight sections with thirty to fifty drawings each. The author was born in Gainesville and lived there for most of his life. All the drawings in this book were drawn from life between 2016 and 2024.

This project was funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, and by the Art Tag Grant of Alachua County. You can support this fund, which helps to fund projects such as the production and dissemination of this book, by purchasing a “State of the Arts” license plate at your local Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Office. The author proudly sports one of these plates on his car.
